Hi everyone! Here's a tutorial on how to install and patch Yahoo! Messenger 5.0 and 5.5.

First of all, download the unpatched version from the Escargot website (https://escargot.log1p.xyz/downloads/yahoo-messenger) and install it, and download the Escargot Switcher (https://escargot.log1p.xyz/downloads/switcher). Install a PE Editor (recommended: Stud_PE [http://www.cgsoftlabs.ro/zip/Stud_PE.zip]) and install it as well.

Next, open your Registry Editor (press the Windows Key + R, type "regedit").
Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Yahoo\Pager and change Host Name to "m1.escargot.log1p.xyz" and Socket Server "m1.escargot.log1p.xyz". It should look like this:

Next, extract the contents of the Escargot Switcher zip (escargot.dll and sample-escargot.ini) to the Yahoo! Messenger directory (usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Yahoo!\Messenger). Rename sample-escargot.ini to YPager.exe-escargot.ini (ATTENTION: It's YPager.exe-escargot.ini, not only YPager-escargot.ini! You might get a "Could not load a configuration file" if that happens.). Edit that file and change type to type=yahoo.
It should look like this:

Next, open Stud_PE (as administrator), go to File > Open PE File and choose the YPager.exe executable from the Yahoo! Messenger directory. Go to the functions tab, right click the pane on the left and click on "Add New Import".

Click Dll Select and choose escargot.dll. Click on Select func. and select "ImportMe". Click "Add to list", and press ADD at the bottom of the dialog box. Exit StudPE and... it should be done!

The username you login with is the username it shows on your account page (https://escargot.log1p.xyz/account). Be sure to have "Yahoo! Messenger support" enabled.

Have fun! Any questions feel free to ask on Escargot's Discord.
This helped a lot! Thank you!
